Range, Refrigeration and washer Fault Codes are very much used these days on the newer Electonic Controls.

This guide may be incomplete as manufactures use different parts on different models. This is a general guide to fault codes. We assume no responsibility for any action taken on your part as a result of using this guide. Consult your owners manual, as it may give the fault codes for your particular model. Contact a local servicer for repairs.

If you didn't find your model/ brand in these fault code charts Contact us! Maybe we can help find your code.

Jenn-Air single,combo and double wall ovens,drop-in and slide-in ranges. Prior to 1997. Models ( D156, S176, W276, W256, W156, WW2780, WM2780, W2780. )
F0   Shorted key failure ( check keypad for a stuck keypad )
F1   Failure in element relay circuit ( press cancel key. If alarm persists, isolate the touch pad from the clock. If failure returns issue is the clock. If failure does not return, issue is with touch pad.
F2   Temperature runaway ( Ohm sensor and check wiring. Verify oven will complete a clean cycle without failure. )
F3   Shorted sensor ( Ohm sensor, sensor wires and inspect sensor for damage.)
F4   Open oven sensor ( Ohm sensor, sensor wires and inspect sensor for damage.)
F6   EEPROM failure ( Replace control )
F7   Clean circuit ( Check door switches and the wiring to the switches )
F8   Door switches ( Check door switches and the wiring to the switches )

Jenn Air Freestanding and slide-in ranges Prior to 1997. Models (W131, WME3020, WMG3020, SCG20200, SCE30500, WG30100.)
Failure Code Condition Check/Repair

F1 Defective touch pad or membrane.
Replace touch pad or membrane (this problem is usually the touch pad).
F1 Watchdog on board.
Replace touch pad or clock assembly (also called the ERC).
 F2 Oven too hot.
  Replace relay board (if present).
  Or oven temperature sensor.
F3 or F4 Open or shorted oven temperature sensor.
  Replace oven temperature sensor.
F5 Hardware and watchdog circuits disagree.  Replace clock assembly (also called the ERC).
 F6 Missing AC signal.
  Check for proper voltage.
F7 Function key shorted or stuck button.
Replace touch pad or clock assembly (also called the ERC)
   Attempt to free stuck button.
 F8 Analog/Digital supervisory.
Replace clock assembly (also called the ERC).
 F9 Door latch supervisory.
  Check door lock circuit.
Replace clock assembly (also called the ERC).
 F0 Function key stuck.
Replace touch pad or clock assembly (also called the ERC)

'Newer Style' Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes

Slide in ranges and wall ovens Prior to 1997
Failure Code Condition Check/Repair

F1 Power to element relay energized during time of day display.
   Wiring harness shorted.
Or change power relay board (PRB).
Note: for double ovens, change second oven board.
F2 Oven temp sensed; over 600F sensed by control in time of day mode, bake mode, or over 900F sensed in clean mode.
Ohm test the oven temperature sensor.
If OK, change power relay board.
F3 Cooling fan on with no oven function selected.
  Check oven temperature sensor.
Check wire harness to oven temperature sensor.
 F4 Shorted oven temperature sensor.
  Check oven temperature sensor.
Check wire harness to oven temperature sensor.
F5 Power to element relays disabled in cook mode
Intermittent oven temperature sensor or wire harness or,
Intermittent contact on power relay board.
F7 Shorted key sensed for 32 seconds.
  Membrane shorted, or,
  Display board defective.
 F8 Shorted meat probe alarm.
Probe jack or harness to probe jack or,
Probe sensing temp above 250F.
F9 Door lock safety circuit on power relay board sensed.
  Replace power relay board.
FF Invalid temp reading on power relay board (PRB).
Check oven temperature sensor and wire harness, or replace power relay board
F Communication error between boards Wiring harness, check harness wires for continuity, or replace power relay board
FC Communication error between boards Wiring harness or power relay board (PRB)
FR Second oven error sensed 1. Check oven temperature sensor and harness, or,
2. Replace second board
